Grant W. Koch made camp his life’s work because of his fundamental belief that camp makes a tremendous contribution to children’s welfare. Grant was dedicated to helping youth learn and grow in body, mind and spirit so that they could mature into responsible, compassionate, productive, happy adults.
The Grant W. Koch Scholarship Fund allows children the chance to have a wonderful summer camp experience. These are children who normally would not have been able to have such a fantastic opportunity.
Our goal is to provide Cape Cod children with the opportunity to experience the wonders of summer camp. By providing financial assistance numerous children will be able to grow and learn skills that will help them prepare for their lives ahead.
Every dollar makes a difference, and every gift, regardless of size, is appreciated and put to good purpose. Remember your summer camp experience and allow another child that same opportunity by donating to this fantastic scholarship fund.
The Grant W. Koch Scholarship Fund was established in 1981 in recognition of the invaluable contributions made by Grant W. Koch to the Children’s Camping Movement in the United States and, in particular, to the Cape Cod Sea Camps – Monomoy and Wono and its campers. Grant had served as the longtime Director of Camp Monomoy and then the Cape Cod Sea Camps. Reflecting his fundamental philosophy that camping provides opportunities for positive growth and development, the fund is designed to allow less fortunate children to experience the wonders of summer camp. Grant firmly believed that camp helped children grow in mind, body and spirit so they could mature into responsible, compassionate, productive, happy adults. The Fund supports 15 to 20 children each summer and enables them to attend the Cape Cod Sea Camps, the Monomoy Day Camp, the Brewster Day Camp, the Girl Scouts Camp Favorite and 4-H Camp Farley in Mashpee.
